LEGAL NOTES

RetroCourt is a free fan project made by one basketball fan. These notes say what it is, what it isn't, and how to reach me.

THE SHORT VERSION

  • Unofficial. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the NBA, any team, any player or any broadcaster.
  • Non-commercial. Free, with no ads, sponsors, accounts or tracking. It makes no money.
  • Live only. A game is shown while it is being played. Nothing is archived: once a game ends, only its final score is shown.
  • A cartoon. The animation is made up around the live data, and it may be late or wrong.
  • Easy to reach. If you hold rights in anything here and want it changed or removed, say so and it will be.

GAME DATA

Scores and play-by-play come from NBA.com's public live data feeds. Game data from NBA.com. That data belongs to its owners, including the NBA, and RetroCourt claims no rights in it.

RetroCourt shows a game only while it is live. It keeps no plays or statistics after the final buzzer, offers no replays, and isn't a data feed or a stats database. It doesn't sell, license or pass the data on to anyone, and it can't be embedded on other sites. Please don't scrape it.

The demo game that plays when nothing is live is made up: its teams, players and plays are all invented.

NAMES AND ART

Team names, team codes and player names belong to their owners. They're used only to say which game is on and what happened in it. No league or team logos, wordmarks, fonts or official artwork are used. Team colours are there to tell the two sides apart.

The players are generic pixel figures with a jersey number, not likenesses of real people. All the art, sound and music is original.

DON'T BET ON IT

Games run about 15 seconds behind live, and the data can be late, revised or missing. Don't use RetroCourt for betting, fantasy or anything else where accuracy or timing matters.

NO WARRANTY

RetroCourt is provided as is, for fun. It may break, change or disappear without notice. To the extent the law allows, I'm not responsible for any loss that comes from using it.

RIGHTS HOLDERS

If you represent the NBA, a team, a player or anyone else with rights in something shown here, please get in touch through the contact page. I'll reply promptly and change or remove whatever you ask, up to taking the whole site down.

CHANGES

If these notes change, the date at the top changes too.
